The Birds

This movie is probebly the most unrealistic film i have ever seen. However, the movie was very suspenceful and the acting was good. The ending was stupid it just ruined the whole movie. I felt that the story was not finished, and that movie could've ended better.
The most scariest part of the movie was when the main actress goes upstairs and gets attacked by the birds. That part of the movie just scared me to death, also when the mother goes and sees her father, and then she walks into his house and sees that he is dead and he has no eyeballs. However i didn't like the editing in that scene. I felt that music would've been better and more suspenceful in that scene.

Twentieth Century

I love 20Th century. I love how you see that the actress started off working for Broadway then she made it into Hollywood. Then she marries her boss and then they had a divorce because he was paranoid about her cheating on him. I loved the acting, epically John Barrymore, he used his hands to a lot as he spoke. One scene in particularly that i liked was when he is trying to get over Lily but she is plastered everywhere and he starts to flip out and goes crazy. He starts to throw paint all over the poster. That was probably the most over exaggerated scene thought out the movie. Also when he tried to teach Lilly how to scream and he stabbed the needle into her leg. The story is a typical i cant live with you cant live without you movie. The reason why is because you see that Lilly trying to forget him but she still has the needle that she gave her when he stabbed her. Also when he tricks her that he is dying and his last wish was for her to sigh the contract and she does because she loves him and doesn't want him die unhappily. The ending is really funny because you see Lilly going from this high class actress to back where she started. The only part that i didn't like was that old guy plastering propaganda all over the train i thought that part was unnecessary. The story was movie would've been fine without him.

The Penalty

The Penalty is probably the worst silent film ever created. The music was horrible, the main character was extremely weird and the plot was confusing. The actresses all looked the same and the acting was terrible, along with the main character that had no legs and wanted to concore the world. The ending was awful how he woke up from a terrible dream that he was some psycho. The film was just terrible the music gave me a headache, it was un entreating and stupid.
The only part of the movie that i did like was the how suspenseful one scene was, when the actress found a secret passage way through the fireplace by stepping on a random brick. I honestly thought that the leg less person was going to come out of no where and stab her to death. Also how in different scene's the color changed, because in today's era you don't really see that much in movies. The leg less person was extremely disturbing by his substitute legs. The way he would walk so other people could feel sorry for him, and then kill them in the end was just disgusting. The music was TERRIBLE!! I felt like someone was hitting his head over a bell over, and over again. Especially during the suspense full parts the music kept repiting itself and it got louder and louder i felt like i was in hell. I could not stand this movie. I hope that I will never see this movie again.

Freaks

Freaks is the weirdest movie i've ever seen. Its really sad how these people are disabled and are being thrown in the circus. However my faviorite two characters are the two midgets Harry Earles as Hans Daisy Earles as Frieda. They are adorable even though they are brother and sister, there acting was amazing and they just made the whole film. Even though Freaks creeped me out the plot was good, and the movie was very intresting to watch.

Alfred Hitchcock: Rear Window

I loved rear window, I think it is a very suspenseful, and exciting movie. I loved the way how Hitchcock was playing god. The way how he saw everything that the neighbors were doing. Also how he named his neighbors such as Mrs. Torso, or Mrs. Lonely Heart I thought that was rather comical. I also loved the nurse she was so funny how sarcastic she was to Hitchcock's character.
Rear Window reminded me of Disturbia, but I like Rear Window better. The reason why is because Rear window is more suspenseful like when the killer slowly walks up the stares. Then how the murder case slowly unravels during the film. Also when Hitchcock's girlfriend goes up to the murders apartment and how she gets caught and then the police came and rescued her. Then when the nurse and the girlfriend went to go and dig up the wife’s body and the audience thought that the guy was going to come and find them. Overall this movie was suspenseful
Another reason why Rear window was better then Disturbia because it was more realistic. For example in Disturbia there is no way that a teenage idiot will punch his Spanish teacher in the face, then getting a house arrest for the entire summer. Then watch the news and find out there is a crazy killer across the street. In Rear Window the guy breaks his leg which has nothing better to do but see what is across the street and finds out that he kills his wife.
This is my first Hitchcock Film and I absolutely love it. I hope that I will continue to watch his amazing movies.

Do the Right Thing

Do the Right thing was a very good movie. The reason why is because the film feels like you are in the streets in the Brooklyn watching everything that is going on. Especially when it was the hottest day in Brooklyn and when the people opened up the fire extinguisher and were spraying water all over the street. I felt that I was there tasting the water and enjoying the cool refreshing taste of the water.
Then later on in the movie when the camera angle was turned sideways as the persons point of view. Also how they showed the face so close it feels like the character is looking at you. The movie was also very surprising especially at the end.
I honestly didn’t expect that from the film. In the begging everybody loved Famous Sal’s Pizza. Then you see a drastic turning point by the end of the film, how everybody turned against Sal’s Pizza and completely burned down and crashed the restaurant. I didn’t think that the people were serious about boycotting Sal’s Pizza. However I was wrong.
The movie is very interesting because it shows the life of the other characters. Such as Mookie (Spike Lee) and how he works as a delivery boy for Sal’s Pizza but you see his personal life with his girlfriend and his son. The acting was amazing, and the film itself is unforgettable.

Traffic

My personal opinion of Traffic as that it was a good movie. I loved the drastic color change that the screen went through. Such as how bleak Mexico was and then how it changed to blue, during the court cases. I've never seen that before in movies, I thought that the dramatic change in colors made the movie more memorable.
This movie also changed my view on drugs. I always thought that the police didn't care about drugs, that drugs were just another problem nobody even bothered to solve. This movie showed me that people are trying to solve the smuggling of illegal drugs from Mexico to the USA. Also the way that the sixteen year old was smoking drugs showed me how disgusting and stupid drugs are. The movie then shows how drugs can take over your body and make you do stupid things just to obtain drugs.
I loved how the plot in Traffic, it is very surprising. Such as in the beginning of the movie how it was in Mexico and how Javier Rodriguez caught the drug dealers. Then he two detectives were caught in a semi-shootout. Then how Robert Wakefield
(Michael Douglas) daughter was addicted to drugs, which is ironic because Robert Wakefield is trying to prevent drugs from smuggling into the USA.
I think the whole movie is trying to say that nobody gets away clean when it come to drugs. Such as when Helena Ayala (Catherine Zeta-Jonas) thought she got away with killing the detectives partner and getting her husband out of jail but then she dies at the end. Overall the film was great, and is defiantly memorable in my life.
